Sea Caves of Na Pali Coast, Kauai, Hawai UHD 4K

The sea caves along the Na Pali Coast are formed from the harsh wave action of the Pacific Ocean slamming into the porous lava.

The first cave is actually a hollowed-out lava tube, and may have served as a place where ancient Hawaiians could rest in their canoes when traveling along the coast. To this day, we do not know what the Hawaiians called this cave, hence the “Open Ceiling Cave” best describes it. This natural cathedral boasts turquoise blue water, massive walls, and a bright sunlit interior. On calm days, people can safely enter the Open Ceiling Cave (small boat). The interior is large enough to circle around and treat passengers to a view of the sky above through the enormous open ceiling.

The second cave is pretty long and deep. When we reached the end, it was pitch dark.
