Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain
Sagrada Familia is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, Spain, designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi became involved in 1883, taking over the project and transforming it with his architectural and engineering style—combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms.
The anticipated completion date is 2026—the centennial of Gaudi’s death.
We have already visited the St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome and the Duomo in Florence, still we are very impressed by Sagrad Familia. It is probably impossible to find a church building anything like it anywhere else.
