SmartKey Fob Battery Dies– How To Enter Car, Start Engine, or Replace Battery

Did you know that when your SmartKey Fob battery dies, you still can enter your vehicle and start the engine? After I got a “key not found” message, I started the experiments shown in this video so that I can know whether I still can drive the car even if the battery is dead. I will explain how the auto keyless system works and I will also show you how to replace the battery if you choose to.

The example used in this video is a Nissan Leaf 2015. However many cars use the same system. It could be called SmartKeys, Keyless Entry, Keyless Go, Keyless Access, or Passive Entry system.

3 Key Factors To Speed Up Oil Extraction-Engine Oil Change

If you use the method of oil extraction, one big concern is the long time to complete the engine oil change. I will share with you 3 key factors to speed up your oil extraction as well other tips to make the engine oil change easier.

The most difficult DIY oil change is getting underneath the car to drain the old oil, and most people hate sliding under the car and getting their hands covered with dirty oil. Also, wrestling with a stubborn drain plug bolt is a common problem and risks damaging the oil plug. Now these are no longer issues, and I also make the DIY super cheap (it’s free) and fast! Please share it with your friends.

Oil extraction additionally has advantages if your oil filter is mounted on the top, and it removes the possibility of removing the drain plug only to have hot oil gush onto your hand. We think the oil extractor makes the operation easy, but if you do decide to do the traditional way, we have a different video to make it a little easier for you: https://youtu.be/S0Ndn4rdBMg Maybe some people will still do the old-fashioned way, but I hope this method will enable other people who otherwise would not DIY.

Some people may question the advantages of this method. You may not get all the oil out, you may not remove all the debris out etc. The counter argument is: but the oil filter will hold most of the debris. The oil is changed hot which means the debris doesn’t really have time to settle. Plus no matter what you do , there is still oil left in the engine, oil left in the pan. What do you think? Is draining better? Do you get most oil out? Does 2 cups of oil left in the engine really matter? Post your thoughts in the comments below.

DIY: Cheapest Engine Oil Extractor, Drain Fluid Easily and Free

If you hate sliding under the car and getting your hands covered with dirty oil or damaging the oil plug, I will show an easy way to construct your own oil extractor free! The most difficult DIY oil change is getting underneath the car to drain the old oil. Now that is no longer an issue and I also make the DIY super cheap (it’s free)! If your oil filter is not mounted on the top, you will probably have to slide underneath the vehicle anyway. Still, the extractor eliminates the difficulty of wrestling with a stubborn drain plug bolt. Also, removing the drain plug often means having hot oil gush onto your hand. 3rd Time Attaching Rearview Mirror– Glue attached to windshield Using 5-minute Eproxy

Just a month ago, I re-attached the rearview mirror (4 years after my first video showing how to re-attach the rearview mirror), but then it fell off again. Certainly last time was a complete failure. This time I spend more time investigating why it failed. I am doing something different to fix this time so that the previous failure would not repeat again. Last time I had two choices:
1. repeat the process of the first fix and see if it works.
2. find the reason it failed and do things differently.
Since the first choice did not work, I am now trying the 2nd this time in this video.

How To Remove A Badly Corroded Car Battery, Replace With New

My battery terminals were really corroded. It was so bad that the bolts and nuts could not be saved. When I got a new set of bolts and nuts, even though they were purchased based on the year and make, they didn’t fit well. I will show you how to fix that.

In addition to demonstrating how to remove a badly corroded battery and replace with a new battery, I will show you how to be safe and will explain the correct procedure to avoid hazards as well as damage to the battery assembly.

4 Years Later, Attaching Rearview Mirror Again — Glue attached to windshield

4 years after my first video showing how to re-attach the rearview mirror, it fell off again. While I am glad that it lasted 4 years, it tells me that something is not right. I am not sure why it came off, so I will experiment more and share the results with everyone. I have two options:
1. repeat the process and see if it works.
2. find the reason it failed and do things differently.
Since the rearview mirror repair glue/kit is only $2 at Walmart, it is sensible to first try #1. If it does not work, then I will try something different.
